Nugent or ifor? Or....

We have an Ifor and will buy another simply because the deck ramp is so.much lighter to install and lift than other makes I have seen. As wife and I get older this is important.

Whilst there are much stronger trailers the strength comes frim more weight which reduces the legal load capacity of the trailer.

I wouldn’t touch a Nugent with the decks they have an know a few that have gone back to ifor because of them.
What was wrong with them? We won't use it that much. It's for places we can't get the 30ft box into. Currently have an old dp120 that I refuse to use after getting stuck under the deck ramp along with the wooden decks and the stupidly steep ramp. It's pre easy load decks obviously.

Nugent is a very well made trailer but the decks are heavy and the top ramp can fall under the bottom ramp if on a hill. Mines 4 years old and apart from the rust on the wheels is a good a new, the ifor I had before was scrape by that time.

Through ram sales, I see a good few different trailers here every year. I know when an Ifor is on its way as they have a distinctive rattle coming up the drive.
From what I’ve seen, and heard from owners, the Nugent is head and shoulders in front of an IW. There are getting plenty of dealers around now too, including a local one that has jacked in selling Ifors in favour of Nugent and is selling a lot.

However, if you can wait, the extra investment in a Gamic with hydraulic decks will put a smile on your face every time you use it, the fabled ‘Gamic grin’.👍

Just bought an ifor 12ft 510 for £2500, cattle divider, two sheep dividers. Bought a kit to do the brakes for£120 ( shoes, cables, adjusters etc) which it turns out it didn't need done, just some adjustment. It will go for years for us.

The rear door ramp doesn’t lock out spring loaded so you have too flick a handle over which is always stiff as hell…
The backdoor for the deck ramp doesn’t go all the way up too 90degrees it’s more like 60-70degrees and 80% of the time when I move sheep I’ll get too my destination and there’s sheep down on the back of the top deck because they walk up the door and then fall over.. hard too explain when youv not seen it…
Also for some reason instead of splitting the sections in 1/2 the deck gates decide it up too 3/4 and 1/4 of the trailer which is weird and no option too move the deck gates anywhere else
