Has anyone tried these anaesthetics on themselves? I had a ring block (injections) on my finger once and it was incredibly painful. Maybe some of the most acute pain I've experienced and so moch so I would have taken the stitches without. I am presuming this is long acting an includes a painkiller.

Did wonder then what your dearly beloved had done now!:bag::D

Interesting.
When I read the title and who started it, first thing I though was what's @Landyman done now?

I think it is very telling that they don't seem to show a video of them performing the procedure.
To me, it looks like they have made a simple operation more stressful, complicated and expensive.
It is my opinion that it is not so much painful as uncomfortable. Many ewe lambs are not bothered at all and ram lambs are more 'get this off of me' for 20-40 minutes.
The needle looks pretty hard to change and with dirty tails of young lambs and the risk of spreading disease it doesn't seem a good idea to me.
I'm sure their business plan involves this becoming a statuary requirement and yet another 'tax' on lamb production with no benefit.

Err... its already a legal requirement to use pain relief for rings applied at over 7 days old.
And if it was your nuts getting the ring around them I think you would realise what the problem is

I'm not a legal expert, but my understanding was a rubber ring can ONLY be applied during the first week of life. To use it later would require a change in legislation.
