Looking at buying an easy texel terminal sire to put over my lleyn x texel x & NC Mule ewes. Wondering how easy they really are for lambing (big heads etc) as will be lambing outdoors April? Used a primera this year but dont get very even looking lambs with them. Anybody used them?

Before this year we had sold 230 EasyTexel rams and ram lambs the majority of which were pure NZ Texels and a small proportion of which were Sufftex Ts ( 3/4 or 7/8 Texel with the balance being NZ Suffolk - these were graded up from pure NZ Suffolk ewes. ). 30 were sold in in 2012: 60 in 2013 and 130 in 2014. These have been sold from Shetland down to Devon to approx. 80 different purchasers taking into account a number of them have already been repeat buyers. To date I have had 1 purchaser complaining about lambing issues with a single Sufftex T ram lamb sold last year and this ram was replaced FOC.
Over 80 % of all EasyRams are sold to outdoor lambing flocks but in the case of EasyTexels this is more likely to be 90%. I cant give you precise figures but a lot are being used on ewe lambs.
Many Forum members are happily using them and I would just mention some that have already discussed them in favourable terms on recent threads - Jackson4: Poorbuthappy: Scholland: Sheeptastic: Willy. We have many more happy users throughout the UK and I will send you a pm to find out your location.
