Oak trusses in steel frame

I’m building a farm office/welfare unit and the quote from builder is quite a lot! I’m thinking about doing in steel frame with dwarf walls and the rest in wood, the only thing is I would really like to have two oak trusses in the middle. Is there any reason why I couldn’t bolt them between two plates on top of steel column? Might need a steel eaves beam as well? Building is only 8.5x4.7m.

How tall is it @B R C ? Could probably just have a timber frame and lose the steel?

I was thinking of building what you describe, but then pitching a timber roof on the steel eaves beam, but it just got too dear so just gone for a portal frame, was thinking of having larch purlins and sarking boards, but i think larch purlins with composite roof will be cleaner inside.
