Hi, I grew rape last year for the first time. It did really well, but I’d hoped for a better blackgrass clean up. The wheat we have this year following the osr looks great but there’s still a lot of blackgrass coming through.
I know that osr should rotate at least every 4 years to be safe, but was told by another farmer that as we’d only grown it for one year, sowing it again after the wheat this year shouldn’t be much of a risk. The nearest rape crop this year is probably about 10 miles away.
