Old farm ruin.

Iv an old ruin, it's just afew old low walls, the walls would be knocked over, put on old ordnance maps it looks like it was a large L shaped building, it's near a road, water and electricity, the old guy who sold us the land was wanting to build a new house on the plot, but died before it got far. How could l find what that house was called, l was going to advertise it will 5 acres of land,.

Check old tithe maps ,village or town records, Church records , internet searches, land registry, old people living locally, local Council etc etc ?
Bet someone would get planning on it also if providence was found?

In Scotland you’ll likely get planning without too much trouble unless it’s really old with archaeological value. If it’s serviced all the better and will help the price. Lots similar places been done up like that round here over the last decade or so, it’s quite nice to see them come back to life.
