Old farmer's saying's..... do you know any ?

A few years ago the estate where I worked took some land back in hand which was all grass, so the manager decided to take hay off it. As we were busy with our own hay he got the local contractor in to do the job.
20,000 bales, all wire tied! Sledge, not flat 8's
So the next bright idea was to send as many spare bodies as possible in the evenings to make up flat 8's for the Farmhand. The final bright idea was to get a local haulier in with three 40' artics. So there we were sweating our nuts off in late July. You'd no sooner gor to the bottom layer of a trailer when the next load would roll into the yard.
The old man wasn't noted for saying 'Thank you, or well done chaps, you've done a good job.' Neither did he lower himself to actually helping.
His contribution one evening was to say ,"There's never yet been a recorded case of a man drowning in his own sweat."
