Old moore unidrills

I purchased it in desperation to try and drill wheat in the Autumn, it was a big ask of it and on reflection I should have just been more patient. Seriously considering DD, but can’t quite get brave enough to make the jump. If it sells, it sells, if not, I’ll keep it and start the DD experiment. For the money there’s a lot of drill and will cover the acres well and doesn’t need massive Hp to pull it.
What £ do you have it advertised at?

On the cusp of advertising it, will be on classifieds here once I remember my log in @ £19500
Think the 2 on TFF classifieds in the 20’s are now sold, but listings still on ?

The front rollers were an improvement. Even with my A frame to adjust pressure on the move I struggle with instability of depth. On soft ground with a lot of trash on top you need pressure to cut through the trash but once through the trash it goes too deep in the soft soil beneath. Lift up a bit and the discs run on top of the trash again.

If I wasnt strapped and had a bigger tractor i'd be interested. Story of my life.

With the a frame idea we could always be able to get the drill level whatever tractor its on im thinking View attachment 862562

That's right. You can lift the front up to reverse as well, so you don't push soil into the back of the coulters.

Something else we did was replaced the springs with lengths of tube in the depth adjustment winding handle that adjusts depth. This stops the drill "knodding".
You can also turn the drawbar upside down to get more or less depth or clearance.

We havnt done a lot with it yet, only bought it last spring, then we put new discs and coulters on. We tried some grass but the seed rate wasn't the best due to the hopper being a bit ripe so i managed to find an old accord hopper with a hydraulic drive fan. We drilled a few fields for turnips but the slugs and fly had it all so not the bestest of starts. I think I'll try the A frame idea, this should help set the drill up a bit better on a range of tractors.
