Yes, a cool, dry, stable environment is the best for keeping seed, heat & moisture are the enemy
Just do a germ test so you know what you've got . . .
Seed dressings can have an effect though, with some being more severe than others.
Personally, I haven't treated any farm saved seed for maybe 15 years or more, so I am a bit out of touch with current dressings.
Yes they did, I remember harvesting some when I was on harvest in Oz. Blooming tall was what I can remember, didn’t give it much thought at the time ...Didn't they find wheat in the pyramids that grew?? Found this so must be true...

What % would you sow at?i had seed from last year treated with Latitude , did a germ test on it and it had fallen to 60%, so sowed it at near twice the rate as i normally would, had also some seed that was 2 years old but it germ rate was in below 10% so i'll have to dump it
