I've been copying a few old pics for our town's Facebook memories page. Hope they are of interest (not all farms, but rural topics )
First is the shop in town my grandad bought in 1920 when it was a fishmongers and poulterers, selling game from the local estates.

The town swimming club in 1930 was just a safe stretch of river down at the bottom end of the farm, now lost beneath the A31.

Our neighbours, the Jarman brothers, who used horse power until the early seventies. I remember the horse in his retirement.

And here are two of their sisters who worked until they died at big ages.

Those wheels on the wagon look identical to two wagons I have which were made at Swindon.

Hay making here back in the 1930's. My great grandparents are on the extreme left. Grandfather is on the cart right at the back and the guy in the light trousers was his cousin who later became a vicar.

This is an old one, 1860's or 70's I would guess - not necessarily at work but taking a well earned rest! It shows my gt gt grandfather (2nd from right) with his three brothers and a workman (far left). They were drovers from the Tregaron area and seem fairly prosperous, at the time only freeholders could be drovers. My ancestor then moved to this area in 1870.
The brother in the middle was a large man for the time and there's a record that he weighed 24 stone. Btw the brother 2nd from left was the gt gt grandfather to our local AM Elin Jones.
