So how are those new Ideal combines standing up? Have they finally got it right? If not, I fear for these new tractors.....
mike mitchell on youtube has somthing crazy like or 8-10? of them

few teething issues but as ever its how there resolved, he was super impressed with agco and their backup god knows what it would be like in uk.

Yes, it is absolutely ridiculous. It devalues the brand and the equipment because very very few people will know which model delivers what at what price point and they cannot connect emotionally with something so confusing.
I don't see the same problems at all it seems..
The differences between the different tractors around 100hp is pretty clear, first you have different first number such as 3710, 4710 and 5710 which is just different size. Then there's some ranges with letter such as 5700S and 5700M where the M stands for global range or in other words they've copied JD where M=poverty spec. To be honest I don't know what the AL range is about but that is one range that I don't know anything about by just looking at the numbers...

The model number should clearly indicate what the product is and where it stands in the range. It shouldn't need a reference chart to work it out.
It doesn't though, the numbering is clear as day, first number is relative chassi size second number is generation and last two is horsepower... As above the inclusion of the M and AL lettering complicates things but that's instantly cleared by actually looking it up.

I dont think its confusing for the new buyer as they can look up the website or ask the salesman if in doubt. Whereas for the used buyer lookin at a tractor on donedeal/agriaffaires it can sometimes be hard to decipher which model ur lookin at. But in fairness its more complicated with most brands as thers now so much choice in spec compared to 15-20 years ago
 
All the things you describe won't work with their planned obsolescence program though. Money is made from parts.

The problem is, that in many many industries, repeated downtime and machines stopped for repair just won't be tolerated, nearly irrespective of the brand in question. As CB said, once you have driven customers to another brand, getting them back is very difficult.

Hoping for a 5 post cab, would be better than 4 so you still have the smaller door to open and shut and a little window for fresh air. But doesn't look like we will get that from the preview.

Big clear easy to use screen that even my old man can read with out his glasses would be bonus along with simple and clear controls.

Cvt gearbox, comfortable ride, plenty of lift capacity and spools, good turning lock, big tool box and a fuel capacity for an 18 hour day at full throttle.

Whatever it is, is guaranteed to be at least £10k more than any outgoing models and full of teething problems as it’s a new model.

its a 4 post cab. Same colour scheme as old 3000 series. Dyna 7 transmission and dyna vt. Called a 8S series. 2 Datatronic 5 screens. One on armrest and one which looks optional on a rail. Just seen a heap of pics from dealer release
