onTrak by Agricision vs Agribus-navi (with quartz 818xt)

I bought a quartz 818xt receiver last year, and used it with the agribus-navi app on my android phone. Had reasonable success though the app crashed a couple of times and on restarting the gps wasn't entirely accurate (eg. gps was off when going back through a gate I have been through previously).

Since then my android phone died and now have an iphone (the iphone was not far off the price of the google pixel phones).

Question is do I buy a new android tablet - circa £80-100 and continue to use agribus-navi or do I go for onTrack by Agricision - circa £650 and use it's app on my iphone?

Has agribus-navi improved, will onTrack give me better more accurate performance than agribus-navi?

I will be using it for mainly fertilizer on grass - approx 300 acres.

Accuracy comes from the GNSS receiver, not from the app. At £650 you almost get a complete system, including an EGNOS capable GPS receiver and a screen.

ok, clearly the reciever is the limiting factor, but which reciever is better eg. accuracy, or is there a big difference in reception in picking up satellites (assuming they are both located in the same place)?

Both systems use an app on either ios or android. You don't get a screen with onTrack (not taking into account lights on gps unit). So the quality, features, stability and maintenance of the app and how the satellite data is interpreted and displayed on the screen does make a difference.

I have used the 'onTrack' by Agricision on my iphone 6s and it was difficult. the screen size just wasn't big enough to run comfortably. i would rather use an iPad as the screen for the app. there is also no way of taking the field boundaries off the app which is a shame.

i tested it running it along side a topcon agi3 with gx45 and field size was out by 0.1ha so i think its accurate enough. I do hope that they will keep on working on the app because it could be a really good little product. The bonnet mounted receiver is magnetic which didn't work with our plastic so made fixing a problem but nothing a strap and few cable ties couldn't sort!
