Who has had an event on their farm?

For various reasons we do not do anything on Open Farm Sunday.
We do have groups round regularly. - Over 500 visitors last year
Next up is a local Beaver pack & parents on Tuesday evening

TFF visited here today. Was really good.

We visited two farms in Hereford shire. Both completely different but very enjoyable. First was a soft fruit farm in Harewood End, Mr and Mrs Snell. 450 acres mostly grown under polytunnel.

Second was a small livestock farm called Dinedor End farm I think. This was a bit more fun for my ten year old son.

We might take part ourselves next year, so good to see what other farms do.

Just home from helping out at local open farm event hosted by NFU Scotland Vice President Martin Kennedy. I was doing a shearing demonstration and q&a about sheep and wool

Went down to do a dog demonstration at myerscough college, even got a flyover by a Lancaster bomber at it! Seemed a busy day and had plenty watching us working the dogs.

We've had over 1800 people round ours, bloody knackered now but great fun and find it a brilliant opportunity to try to educate people about what we do. Beaver group about tomorrow night and a farmer's club visit on Thursday, may as well get them done while the farms tidy!

We have ours on Good Friday, the weather can be worse but with lots of little animals about it is more interesting than now.

Thanks, we push the advertising a bit more because of the shop which helps. We couldn't do it without a lot of help from friends, neighbours and companies we deal with. Got some drone pics which I will try to post in the next day or so. Lucky with the weather as well, heavens opened at about 7.

Given the weather on Saturday and that is forecast tomorrow, at least for many it stayed dry today (apologies to anyone whose day was spoiled by rain today!). The last year that we did it, we had torrential rain and thunder directly overhead just as we were starting our first guided walk, we all had to retreat back to our vehicles for 20 mins!

Took a few sheep to The Ward family's OFS at their 'Uncle Henry's Farm Shop' to do our bit on sheep and wool.

2,200 acre arable and pig farm. Estimated 5,500 visitors. Two tractors and 30 seat trailers doing farm tours all day long.
Weather held out all day

A mere 186 came to my little OFS event. With only a few local helpers and farm staff we don't have the resources for parking lots of cars & entertaining thousands.

2 schools days on Thursday and Friday with 400 kids was the main event here - OFS is a bonus.

Helped fellow Arla farmer John Goodwin and family in south Derbyshire. Great effort by all involved and around 900 members of the public attended.

Eldest daughter helped out on her friend's place - over 1700 visitors today.

Think I'd have to spend 12 months clearing up before I could envisage opening to the public. Couldn't cope with big numbers either.
But good on those of you who've got involved.
