I've just found this on Facebook posted by Stephen Framingham what are your opinions on this?
Another question I have to pick your brains is how long had you been ploughing with the same gear as you use now before you started qualifying and being placed at the Nationals? @Roy Stokes @Fergie Ploughman sorry if I've missed you off as these two came to my head first.

Should have been stoped had there been any stewards but I only saw one all day and no penalty points were given despite several people being over time on their openings and at least one plot with 2 wheel marks.

Alex Irving had 2 wheel marks on the Saturday when I attended. This is my work in the picture below however, Alex Irving had done the same mistake. I didn't get any points deducted, but I think I should have. Shouldn't Alex Irving have had some points deducted or not? Sorry if I'm completely wrong.

I was stewarding next row across ant it was brought to my attention, I reported it the head steward of that class and he couldn't see anything wrong with what he was doing, do reported it to head steward of my class who went over and sorted the problem. I asked to steward revisable on both day was put on hydraulic mounted first day, then world style plough off on Sunday, when I went down to look at reversible splits while being judged, mick chapple complained and phil Barrable ordered me back to world style plots, might have something to do with two wheel marks at Lichfield which I reported and he was deducted 20 points, he did everything this weekend to win. The standard of stewarding is worse than the jiudgeing none of them have a clue, one less steward next year as I won't be volunteering will be with reversibles all weekend.

The lack of stewarding has been put to the vice chairman and is going to be brought up at the next directors meeting the second day at the classic there were 3 each end for 10 competitors yet the first day there were even 3 for the 31 in the classic class

How can. a ploughman dictate who is of is not a steward, next they'll be picking and choosing their judges, Barrable excuse was I knew most of the ploughmen told him I knew all of them, and possible more ploughmen on the site than he did!

That was mainly due to the incompetent head steward on Saturday who was clueless

I would count that as two wheel marks in the picture can't comment on Alex as I wasn't there to see it.

@Howard150 @Roy Stokes @Fergie Ploughman @arcobob How long had you been ploughing in the Vintage/Classic before you started qualifying at qualifiers matches?

Ploughed in the Classic since it was first brought in. Was a few years before a class was held for Classics at the national with the first one being at Wilsic. Probably Bob Butlin and myself have the longest history in that class. That's not to take anything away from Colin Duggan who also ploughed at Wilsic. Possibly me longest as the first classes were held here in Gods county. Before you all start screaming foul - Stuart Burden was ploughing in the vintage mounted class then, Carl Fretwell in World Style.

Nearly forgot. Yes there are two wheel marks. Can be two such as this or two by virtue of the wheels not being in the same wheeling on the ploughing for the last 2 runs. Chris Grice and myself got away with it at Reading. Me as the photo due to an excessively hard tramlines a couple of yards in whilst setting off on the finish - him on the ploughing. Bill Yeandle won that year.

Qualifying as it currently stands is a nonsense. Should be on a league table basis with each ploughman having to attend at least 3 qualifiers. This is the only way to stop people winning qualifiers by virtue of them being the only person to turn up.

I started match ploughing at the age of 61, that makes it late 2004 and won my first qualifier in 2006,ploughing in the Nationals in 2007I think at Crockey Hill. I finished the wrong way and ended up 20th.. My last appearance was at Taunton in 2011 but that is another story. A very brief career at top level in vintage mounted and now, at almost 73 , the senior moments are becoming more frequent and it is beginning to feel like hard work.

Restarted ploughing in 2004 and 1st qualified 2010, a bit by default really as I hadn't realized the match was a qualifier and hadn't intended to plough at the national, a few Shropshire men persuaded me to go, I didn't enter a qualifier in 2011 for Litchfield 2012 as we didn't have a qualifier in Shropshire that year, qualified every year since by traveling to Derbyshire on the years when we don't have a qualifier in our county.
