SJH was it a paralell squeeze using a handle. morris could do with a new website

No it had a wire rope with 2 pins at the bottom, so pull the wire and push the sides in with your foot, so it made a v shape, tbh I very rarely used the squeeze, I can't remember using it except for dehorning calves. I wouldn't really call it a squeeze, as they say it's vari width.

It was just the standard of the build that I liked. Everything was well finished, and there were a lot of touches which had been added over the years. It didn't cost much more than one of the major brands.

Like the crush in classifieds but looks as bottom panels are solid and can't open if you did need to suckle a calf ?

Saw the Bateman at ploughing as
well ,agree need to be able to grab head from behind , it was around €4K there was a manual te pari for 7,5k in fairness the difference was like night and day

From memory GSF are about 1-1.5k dearer than Bateman

Anyone use a Ritchie squeeze any comments?

Iae have a manual one as well , they seem to have a lower priced one and then a higher priced ,anyone seen them ?

Sorry to stick my usual nose in.............. but

There have been many threads on buying crushes because they are expensive and difficult to appraise without using them or at least seeing someone else use them.
Most just show photos with doors open and maybe a quiet cow stood in it.
This is how crushes should be promoted;

I bought one on the strength of that video and it is a brilliant piece of kit.

Did you get the baffle flaps to block vision ? Look a good ide

No I didn't.
I went to see someone with the crush and he had them and said they worked well but had most of them off when I was there.I think he said half a set would be enough as that would blank off enough while not getting in the way.
So far, I have found that the position of the open back door blocks the cattle from seeing me until they are in the crush so i think 2 or 3 would be good but doubt I'd ever bother.
While researching to choose a crush, I saw a video showing how most crushes could be improved for cattle by simply sticking up pieces of cardboard to reduce distractions.

If you ever see one have a go and you'll see how much better it is

But surely it requires power, you can't feel the pressure and it can't be quicker than an instant?
This actually demonstrates the reason for my original post, I'd love to see them all in action so I could compare, on video if not in the flesh.
