Our solar PV array reviewed

Our solar 6kW PV array has been up for four months and I thought it was a good time to have a look at their performance providing an unbiased report, based on real life experiences, illustrating power output on overcast, rainy and sunny days in the UK.

More information on our array is available here: https://myhomefarm.co.uk/solar-pv-and-inverter-review

Would be very interested to hear comments and how our array compares to yours.

I have deleted my post and apologise. Going to the link below is a little misleading perhaps.
Couple of points, fr
The reason for the small inverter is actually genuine, they will perform better at lower light levels, cutting in sooner and being more efficient turning the DC into AC. The Eon adviser should have explained this. You would have gotten better winter performance from it.
Second, you have just passed through the best third of the year. Performance of panels is concentrated something like 75% production in the months April - September. Also 75% occurs in the hours 10-2pm roughly.
In my opinion , they are best suited to air con rather than heating homes. However with the high insulation on many new homes, air con is becoming a near neccessity

Absolutely no need to apologise as I'm sure it was an honest mistake. Interesting points. I was told that PV panels actually perform very well when it gets colder, so I'm intrigued by that prospect.

How strange about the inverter - not sure why they didn't inform me of the potential benefit.

The panels do perform better when it is cold and you will get times in winter on very clear days when you will get good results. But of course the days are short and the sun is low.
I can tell you now that you will generate around 6,000 Kwh per year. Slightly lower if you are up North and possibly slightly over in the far south.
Various inverters make a little difference but it is very low, reliability is far more important.
