provided you have all the feed out in place for them ready, then way more economical than housing. Need to start planning for it in the summer.
You must get your head round the mindset of moving them daily, having plenty of electric fencing gear and of course a "plan b" for the 2 weeks when the weather goes crap and everything turns to sh!t.

How much energy is wasted in a badly ventilated livestock building, in them sweating out. Was that not one of the selling points of wood chip corals, more efficient utilisation of energy?

I would think its a case that we all know our farms
I had 50 yearlings out one winter on compleate diet in bunkers ,wet winter like this ,they were losing weight ,bought them in on same diet and the regained and put on weight on the same diet
We get a lot of rain most years , but when im down on the Sussex Downs its a pleasure to see those cattle running out
