Looking into putting in an outlet pipe with two sluice/gate valves on a new earth bank lagoon for easier emptying.
Has anyone done this? What pipe and valves did you use and where did you get it from? Any things to watch out for tips on installation? Cheers

Yes I did it on a earth bank clay lined lagoon built into a slightly sloping site. Used 160mm 12 bar plastic pressure pipe with fusion welded joints. We use it to connect to umbilical pump.
Our banks are mostly made from limestone with a top soil covering and clay lined on the inside. Contractors dug a 'V' in the bank to drop the pipe into. Told them to line the 'V' with clay around the pipe but I don't think they'd did as we have had issues with leakage around the pipe when slurry gets about 2' above where the pipe goes through the bank. It's got a 45 degree Bend on it inside the pit to take the inlet down to the bottom.

We did it and had the pipe 'welded' to the lagoon butyl liner. Worked really well.
Have since removed the lagoon so I do have a 25' length of steel pipe + 2 x Bauer valves readymade to go if you're interested. ?

I put a plastic pipe through my banking, which had electro fused joints.
On the inside it is plastic welded onto the liner and on the outside it has an electro fused collar onto which the twin sluices bolt on.
