Need to drill some oval holes, about 10 or 12mm diameter and about 20 mm long so not huge, would normally but file two holes together but this is for a house project so needs to be done nicely, is there anything that could do it ?
We have pillar and mag drills that could be used with the right bits, have been told that bits to fit in a router are available. Any advicr

If you're starting with flat plate, I would recommend getting it laser cut. It will be a precise and tidy job and every one will be the exact same. You can also fillet any corners you want while you're at it and have all manner of decorative curves and shapes. It's not terribly expensive and you can even get it done online nowadays. Fractory have quite a nice website that quotes instantly - they won't be the cheapest but if it's a one-off it may be the simplest solution to get a ball park price.
