I have a box just like that, my best mate must have made it and put it in one of my sheds for safe keeping when he moved to Ireland in 2004 . I came across it a couple of weeks ago clearing out the shed, just Need to find somewhere to put it now.Just make sure that you build a strong enough framework (ideally steel) to hold it up. Owls will fill them with crap over the years and there can be a fair bit of weight up there after a while. Just bolting them to the side may not be enough eventually.
Thats me just yesterday returning a fledgling to a box in an old dutch barn at my place. I put the box up there probably 30 years ago, note the steel brackets completely supporting the box.
Here:Made some, same as this. Got 3 out of 2 sheets 6 mm ply and some offcuts of slaters latths. There is a pattern somewhere on the barn owl trust site.
I just used shuttering ply.Here:

Find out why indoor Barn Owl nestboxes are the best option.Do you have a suitable building?Ideal buildings for Barn Owl nestboxes are:At least 4 metres (13ft) high. With anwww.barnowltrust.org.uk
I wonder whether owls would mind thin stokboard for added longevity
Jackdaws and kestrals use our owl boxes, never seen a fecking owl in any of themI bought some online, can’t remember who though unfortunately, barn owls seem very picky about where they nest, despite barn owls being seen in one shed they still refuse to nest in any of the boxes. Jackdaws like them mind!!!
A man with a mill or a chainsay will curse you forever in a later life.
Here's one of three I put up in trees a couple of years ago. I made a steel frame to fit to the tree then bolted the box to that, it was easier than trying to screw the box direct to the tree.
