It says £1 for 4 pints so it's just under 31p per litre to the farmers

the 3 big milk buyers
1st NESTLES take in 15 billion liters and make 21.3 billion
2nd LACTALIS take in 15 billion liters and make 16.4 billion
3th ARLA foods take in 13.4 billion and make 10.6 billion

i paid 34.69p/l in lidl today.....so sainsburys paying over 30p direct to farmers seems pretty fair?

Simple, it's not 70ppl it's 70p in the pound, it makes it sound like farmers are getting a lot but farmers do all the production , milk is perfectly drinkable straight from the farm so the remaining 30p is for the processing and retailing, as I have no idea how much this actually costs I don't know wether this is good value or not.

It's not a remaining 30ppl. As stated above, the £1 is for 4 pints.

Sorry, yes, I fell into the same trap, it's not about ppl it's all about 70p in the pound goes to the farmer, 30p in the pound goes between the processor and the retailer making it look like the farmer is getting a good deal.
