NO, it will bead up like water on oil. That's for silicone, "siliconIZED acrylic sealant" is just latex and can be painted over with latex paint. You'd have to put a different sealer over the silicone to span all of it, or possibly there is a specialized primer that will stick, I'm not aware of one.
I’d rather weld it up, even if you do it vertically down or just at a fast speed so there’s little penetration to cause warping but seals it up nicely to keep rust out
