I was going to post this 👆🏻. Apparently more info suggests it wasn’t even the bbc and it was filmed privately then sold to the bbc 8 months after the event. The bbc should clearly of checked it out prior to televising it which they didn’t but they did not film it or authorise the filming.
If so I'm this needs putting out go the papers and also write to mp who hammering bbc ar moment. Good chance she will make us if it.

I complained, querying whether the footage of abuse of cows had been staged by the employee/s including the person filming it.

I‘ve had this load of waffle back which doesn’t answer the question:

Thanks for taking the time to contact the BBC.

We’re sorry we can’t reply individually on this occasion, so we’re sending this reply to a number of people including yourself. This allows us to reply promptly to the main concerns raised, using our licence fee resources more efficiently. We hope this will address most of the points raised.

BBC Panorama ensured a range of views and opinions were heard during the episode broadcast on 14 February. We took a number of steps to report with due impartiality, and reflect things from the perspective of the Dairy Industry too:

• The economic pressures on the dairy industry were reflected clearly throughout the film.
• We included the team’s visits to two dairy farms whose efforts to maintain high standards of animal welfare were clearly conveyed to the audience.
• We reported the UK dairy industry’s view that it has some of the highest animal welfare standards in the world.
• We included input from a representative from the National Farmers Union.
• The programme also interviewed a vet with extensive experience of working with dairy herds, to put the undercover filming into context within the wider dairy industry.

We feel the programme was duly accurate and fairly portrayed the issues involved, bearing in mind the specific editorial focus on this occasion. We appreciate all feedback from viewers and have made it known to the Panorama team involved, and senior news staff.

Kind Regards,

Darren Loughlin

I have replied that the abuse of cows is pretty much the only thing from the programme that has attracted commentary, so it’s reasonable to question how truthful the footage is.

Well I'm reluctant to pay for a compulsory TV licence if this is what I'm paying for, all licence payers indirectly funded this setup.
Haven't paid for one for years.

All the info you need, to do the same is in these forums

However, the question you should be asking yourself is if they manipulated and lied about the situation here why do you think that they have been telling you the truth about Covid and Ukraine?

Happy at it

Without knowing the background and facts of the farm in question, I couldnt help but feel for the owners and what they've likely been through over the past months as a result of the findings in the programme. Had recently been wondering what had happened as a result.... .

In the Red Tractor consultation carried out last year - well before this programme - I highlighted the mental health issues associated with Red Tractor in the dairy sector as nearly all milk buyers insist on it. If you are chucked out then your business is shafted, you can't sell non-assured milk in any sort of volume for a decent income. Cows still have to be fed and milked every day at a financial cost. I made the point that it could not be right that one non-statutory organisation could hold so much power - but it obviously made not a jot of difference.
