Think @exmoor dave may have attended a couple of years ago.

I sure did

It's a good show particularly if you're interested in beef and dairy
The sheep section is very poor.

There is acres and acres of machinery, even though I'm not a machine nut, I found it interesting as there's so much weird and wonderful stuff we don't see over here.

There are alot of trips organised from the show ground to surrounding farms, research places etc etc

I reckon you'd need 2 days to really see everything and take in a couple trips

You've just missed the http://www.sommet-elevage.fr/visiter.html - fly to Clermont Ferrand, biggest livestock show in Europe, start of October

SIA is great, more like the old Smithfield show, lots of livestock and food. Held every year and you need a couple of days. Porte de Versailles, Paris .

SIMA is the other side of Paris and is the big machinery show with a bit of livestock, held every 2 years, at the same time as SIA, so you can do both shows in the same week.

we found it very funny walking through a very crowded cattle pavilion shoulder to shoulder , all of a sudden the crowd parts and 10 huge limmy bulls walk straight through the middle on halters , no stewards , no barriers, nothing , imagine hse allowing that here , and to top it off bar across road after all smoking inc bartender watching sport , european regulation haha
