Parlour mats

Thinking about putting mats in the parlour to improve cow comfort etc
Any suggestions as to which mat is the best?

we had animat from david beech barn equipment cows seemed to be more confident in and around the parlour but beware all rubber matting will become greasy and very slippy over time and will need a regular steam clean, now moved the mats to round the robots and they certainly help when cows are turning

Dairy Flow in Ayrshire seem to be fitting lots of it recently.

I have Fastfix alley mat good but takes an age to swill out.

Whatever you get go for some with a hammer top finish rather than the button type finish.

Speak to Chaz at intershape they sell animat mats the same as kraiberg but a lot cheaper .like someone said the button type will take an age to clean.

Thought there weight alone would keep them there. But the bloody things move all the time whats best way to fasten them down.

I've recently done ours with 6' x 4' x 17mm stable mats, 7 down each side, I cut them around the front & back posts with a Stanley
I've left them button side up, every week I turn them back & hose under them. They're not fixed but there is very little movement.
They cost about £24 each, so much cheaper than the £1500 quote I had. I'm happy & the cows seem happy

I have the ones from intershape mentioned above. They fitted them . Bloody heavy mats if you try and drag one about! Also a lot cheaper than kraiborg.

I will count tomorn I still have some screws left they are fairly big,washers were about 15mm or so.

Can I ask, if your all putting mat's in the parlour for cow comfort, how many of you have them down the feed fence, as that would be my priority as they're only in the parlour for 10 minutes each end of the day.

Just been putting some mats at front of parlour and used these. Zinc alloy hammer fixings with penny washers, get a really good grip

That's why I put mine in but boy have they speeded up milking we used to fetch a lot of cows in,now only the last two sides just wish we did it years ago

Mine have 8 screws per mat,3 on either end and two opposite in the middle,I wouldn't use anything other than stainless screws to fasten them down,you will need to lift them one day I'm sure.
