for a 16/32 parlour I was recommended to use a 63mm ( 50mm bore) ring main...seems overkill to me but I guess the bigger the pipe the lower the restriction. Actually whilst talking about pipe I was also recommended to use a 63 mm pipe to feed the plate cooler ( that is from borehole water via a storage tank though ...about 100 odd foot of head) . That also seems overkill but who am I to know !

ah right...there are a few around here. We went to see one near Lampeter with a tunnel from the parlour to the dairy. Ours involves extending the old parlour building and rebuilding the pit etc

Sorry for draggin up on old topic but this morning our washdown pump packed up. Its trying to run but just cant build up pressure. Water is passing through though. I'd like to have a go at fixing this one as a)its already broken to what have I to lose? and b)a new is going to be £250 and i wouldn't mind washing the parlour down.

What should I be looking at to fix it?

I think there are plasticy impellers in them.
Maybe have a look on dairy spares or milking machines .com or uk?

Turns out the pump was fine but a problem with the header tank...no water being the problem :banghead: Heading out to market this morning and I thought TFF would be my first port of call...ah well.

If thats the most embarrasing i'll ever do I can count myself lucky.
