Parmiter elevator chain

Hi all first time poster here hope I get this right.

Am trying to source chain for a parmiter small bale elevator, the type with a central chain with spiked links to carry the bales.

After 40 years it is completely worn out and the links keep breaking where the backs are worn paper thin.

Was wondering if anyone here had and success finding any as I am really struggling at the moment.

Thanks all for any help or suggestions.

Thanks for the replies.

I hear what you say about just buying another used elevator.

Unfortunately it has a 40ft extension on it for loading bales on top of a covered silage pit to put straight into adjoining cubicles, that is the only reason it is still here.

Both the main elevator and extension chains are worn equally and both have broken already this year, obviously if one link is work to the point of breaking they all are.

I don’t suppose you can remember who you went to to price the chain Ollandroverman? Just so I can scare myself for around 120 ft of chain, so far everyone I have asked has just said they can not supply it so any price is a better start that nothing.

Buying enough scrap elevators to replace it all could be a last resort I suppose along with building every link back up with weld as that is how I have repaired it so far but that seems a rather daunting task with the length of it.

Again thanks for the ideas.

Ahhhhhhhh, I can't remember any numbers, but Rickerbys the Claas tractor dealer network did manage to get me a price. Or I was looking at buying direct from the states myself and trying to organise shipping. Buying from the states was a good bit cheaper, but I never followed through and priced up the postage.

Ok thanks for that, as you say there seems to be plenty of it available across the pond how hard it is to get it back over here, would just l take some organising I suppose. Will get in contact with Rickerbys and see what they can come up with. Thanks for coming back to me.
