Loving that . Are the layers on the same system as broilers ? They would be more doable to start with, without the processing issue to think about
Layers have various guises of accommodation!
Chicken caravan is the main one - converted folding caravan trailer with mesh floor, roost bars and roll away nest boxes. Then an electric net run. All moved daily or every other day depending on numbers. Currently they're in my broiler pens to conform with bird flu restrictions. For small numbers this would be cheapest way in.
They can be done on the same system as in that video, with nest boxes and roost bars all built in. Saves on moving netting every day then, but does increase infrastructure cost.
Also have tried the "chickshaw" method that Justin Rhodes has. But she quickly outgrew that!

Looks manageable in those ones you made . I’d imagine the punters would like those eggs 🥚. I like the idea of adding another product to the list now although it’s probably easier to buy them in

Best letting the daughter set up an egg enterprise.

Before you know it, you'll be doing pasture-fed dairy too😉
