Pentair Hypro Duo React nozzle bodies

Anyone using these twin line nozzle bodies. They worked really well for the first year but are now a complete pain. The front line allows dust in through the breather holes which then seems to cause the air shut off to stop working so random nozzles remain running on the headland. Sometimes stripping the nozzle body down and cleaning it out (which is not easy in the field) will improve it, mostly no,t then another one starts to play up. I suspect there is more at play here than just the dust. Pentair promised to fix it at the start of the spraying season we are still waiting! Just like to know if we are the only ones experiencing this problem.

Exactly the same. Imho the dust is getting into where the piston is and then destroys the rubber seals. I also think the springs need to be stronger. I am fitting a new set of pistons today and hoping to speak to the guy at Hypro as well to vent frustration as well as try and help.

The Duo React (twin valve pneumatic nozzle body) is based on our Prostop (single pneumatic valve). Its been pretty reliable in use and we've sold many tens of thousands over the last 8 years or so as has the Duo React introduced in 2014. There are always learnings along the way though and we implement them once we have tested to ensure no adverse effects. We are in the process of adding a small filter to new Duo React following successful field tests. Despite extensive testing to external standards we did not see a problem with dust ingress during development, but it is impossible to cover every operating situation or do tests for multiple seasons of use.

As stated the piston assembly is a replacement item as it does wear over time. The assembly Hypro part number is 4200-0045V and the servicing instructions can be found on our website at:
http://www.hypro-eu.com/fileattachments/Hypro-eu/en-gb/DuoReact_OIPM_Mar_2014.pdf.

The Hypro part number for the filter on its own is 43R2Q4179, it can be ordered separately.

Hope this information is useful.

The power of social media! Received an email today informing us we would have this filter kit retro fitted to our sprayer, lets hope they are able to keep their promises this time. Communication with the customer is so important now a days as it is so easy to contact other users and more importantly potential customers. I will be back with a report on how the filter works or indeed if it eventually turns up or not!

Please note that 2x piston sub assemblies are included in a service kit 3430-0840V that also includes all the replacement o-rings needed. That's the part to order if replacing the piston sub-assemblies.

Did you get anywhere with this? Having exactly the same problem with ours at the moment.

Apologies for bringing up and old thread... We have got hypro duo react nozzle bodies, new a year ago with the sprayer. What maintenance should we be doing to them?, I've heard people say about lubricating the piston in them? How often does this need to be done? I'm guessing ours will have the filter kit already fitted. So far we've had no problems at all.

Apologies if I am referring to a different part, but the top o-ring in the picture below is starting to break up on several of the pistons. Is it available as a separate part (it is just a piece of rubber!) or do you need to buy a new piston assembly? If so, who is the best stockist?

Thanks
