Hi

Honest Scottish fellow from Hampshire just looking for a field to detect on occasion. Work in Chichester so West Sussex would also be great. Just an excuse to get out and about and enjoy the hobby. Country boy at heart. I have NCMD Insurance. Started it up quite recently and really struggling to find anywhere other than the local littered beaches. Bought a decent detector and very capable of making some finds if there to be had. Any finds declared and shared of course.

Be happy to do some short work in return, within reason. Would be on my days off I should add so nothing too excessive :) Not shy of hard work.

Thanks for reading, Derek.

From a farmer to a detectorist, still fellow man. Are our kind frowned upon? I get the feeling we're up there with the good for nothing poachers ? All opinions taken. Offence not. I can handle it. Be good to know. I'll be knocking doors soon God help me ?

Look at your post history, original post was 3 weeks ago and a few "bumps".
Hang around, engage, learn and enjoy. Then people won`t think you are a random "stranger".

Hi and thank you for your kind advice.

Would love to setup a potential meet, much better that way to engage with people rather than in forums.

But just need the opportunity and someone willing to do so around the Coventry area.

There in is the answer, legwork, mileage and let the farmers see the whites of your eyes. You will get lots of no`s and the occasional yes. Anyone can buy a machine getting permission is far harder but the shops won`t tell you that.

Have you taken any land out of production from last autumn?
