Apparently it is the washing of hands after stroking a recently dosed Pluto that gets the gubbins in the drink. The contamination is found far from likely agricultural sources and near cities and baffled water testers for a while. I was under the impression that the doses were low and unlikely to cause significant harm - limits are generally set at limits of detection that are fantastically low. Neonics are much less toxic to water organisms than pyrethroids.

What about that mongrel Carrie took in? I mean the terrier not Boris. Presumably it’s drenched with organic shampoo and doesn’t have any of these environmentally devastating flea treatments.
Probably treated with something like tea tree oil, widely loved by aromatherapists and greenies. It is poisonous and in the dosages used probably thousands of time worse than some proven proprietary products

Yes I have a vegan neighbour who won’t give her cat the flea treatment prescribed by the vet as it goes against her ethics. So she gets me to administer it instead when I’m delivering hay. So that’s alright then. 🙂

If the rain washes enough to damage wildlife the poor dogs must be ill with the stuff.
I suppose in urban areas it washes into drains much more easily.
Will need withdrawal periods when you cannot walk your dog in the rain for 2 months.

Vegan who keeps a cat :scratchhead:. Does she stick to her principles and feed the cat lettuce, or does she overlook feeding meat to the cat as well?

Most vegans seem to be pet owners and feed meat to them. I don't get it.
