Stihl TS range, buy right or buy twice!

Husqvarna have 'oil guard' which means if you dont use exactly their oil it wont start.

Makita petrol saw I have no experience of

Most two stroke things now are fussy about petrol and two stroke oil mix!! A lot now need the flipping expensive pre mixed Aspen type petrol or the carbs gumm up if you keave them fir more than a week!!!

Building trade tend to use Stihl , I think they are lighter machines , the makita has always been a heavy beast and for vertical work ,you are pleased to put it down ,my old 6410 is a hefty lump and the Husky k760 I bought 5 years ago is between the two ,,only problem with Huskies is the stop switch , it gets clogged with dust and loses its contacts to switch the engine of .

Stihl tend to be on deals which make them slightly cheaper than husky which is more than likely why they are more common. I work with various different lads with all makes of saws and run husky myself. I know hot or cold I can grab my saw and a couple of pulls it'll be running. Stihl, makita I've seen lads pull and pull at times and had to walk away for a rest and come back to it! I think vibration is a lot lower on the husky as well. If you're gonna be cutting panels you are aware a 14" saw only cuts 125mm deep, for 6" panels you'd need a 16" saw but there a big step up in price.

Ive seen a stihl , im sure 18" that is a beast
I always thought 14" was the biggest.
My two observations
What do u see 90% of people with , and hire shops, stihl .
Around here at least far more stihl dealers, for parts than husky.

Id of thought if either machine is in shite all day and not serviced its gonna give trouble.
Is a thieving,, .... gonna grab a stihl b4 a husky , no idea.

You pays ur money, takes ur choice eh.
Possibly visit a dealer that has both side by side ???
Good luck 👍
