Picked wrapped bales,

Iv got a lot of bales picked by crows, they pull stocks out and the top bales have been wrapped 3 times, would changing to putting the bales on there end instead of on there round help, those picked bales can't be feed to sheep as so moldy. Never been so bad. Also is it just mine as when you pull and bits of moldy stuff out on to the ground the bloody sheep want to eat it first.

We sheet all our bales it’s the only way to stop damage. We use Galebreaker covers, they are really tough and slippy so very easy to pull around on your own. Ours were between £200-£250 per sheet from memory but have a 10 year guarantee. We now have four sheets and the only damage we get now is some rat damage, forget about nets they’re a waste of time.

Stacking them on end will certainly make it harder for birds to pierce the wrap, or cover as above. Nets work if you have them spaced away from the bales by putting tyres between the bales and the net. If just pulled over the bales, they can just peck through it.
