Piers Morgan and Vegans

Once went to a local animal sanctuary run by vegans, all very nice ,with animals rescued from here and there. I did notice ,while I was there, the rat poison at the back of the horse stable. Perhaps some animals are more equal than others.

Think she gone bankrupt several times, but had a small holding worth 2 million :scratchhead::scratchhead:, would point out her sister lives local and she is liked by most .

I think we have run a thread on here about here unpleasant antics 2 or 3 years ago. Just surprised at how easily Morgan dismantled her argument.

What a bloody idiot that woman is.

Wants to view animals as sacred beings but is happy to eat bread and eggs.

She's "challenged " every day, but apparently it's by having to walk past the butchery department in her local supermarket and seeing animals being transported on the roads. She did not mention having a bunch of deranged carnivores try to stop her getting to her workplace and scream abuse at her while doing so. No , that's her lovely, gentle vegan friends that do that.

Worst of all, and an example of her delusional, ignorant hypocrisy , she labels farm animals as "the most vulnerable members of Society ".

Really? The same farm animals who are housed, bedded, fed , mucked out, have their health and wellbeing tended to on practically a daily basis?

They're more vulnerable than babies, the elderly , the sick, ;those who are homeless, those who have poor mental health ? Come on you priggish, uptight, zealot. Really?

This remark more than anything else she said reveals the cold hatred that lies within this movement. The cold hatred for their fellow human beings, ( remember, she said there are too many of us and we are in need of control, which is why Morgan tried to goad her on did she want a cull of people, ).

Tolerance , love, understanding, respect for others - none of the above means anything to a militant vegan, so consumed are they by hatred and their Divine Correctness .

Like was mentioned last week, just another layer of mental ill health.

Hilarious.. I tied Vegan.. didn't get on with it. I've only cut meat out (at the moment) because trying to loose a little weight and lower the old cholesterol. Veganism is not a religion, it's a life choice. I have friends and family that are Vegan but are not pushing their Vegan beliefs about.. some people just need a worth while project to keep them entertained.

Why do you think eliminating meat consumption will lose you weight?

When do you see a fat vegetarian?

I don't know. I'd say vegetarians by their definition would make more concious food choices in the first place -so probably eat less processed stuff. But I can't see eating no meat per se helps you lose weight - maybe eating more greens and less processed crap and refined carbs

Possibly the fact that our bodies have evolved eating meat and the lack of it causes a dietary deficiency?

Veganism does exist within some religious faiths, but those who take that path are professed. The men wear nothing, the women wear a seamless garment, and they sweep the ground before them lest they tread upon a small creature. Most people who follow those faiths are lacto-vegetarians. There's more dairy production in the Indian subcontinent than in Europe - I think that's what was said in an article in Farmers Weekly recently.

There are plenty of people who try to follow a lifestyle that eschews animal derived food and products, but that isn't a religion. Fine if they know a highly skilled dietician, but dangerous if they don't, and if they substitute leather for oil based fabrics, or use manmade microfibres, then they're uggering up the planet for the sake of vanity.

PS, Stewart. I had a wibble with cholesterol, and have been advised that cutting out meat isn't necessary. A daily glug of good olive oil makes the difference - 50ml. Eating a meal of mackerel or other oily fish once a week is beneficial, too.
you need Galloway beef!

They're poles apart from the rather lovely, peaceable vegans I knew from student days.
It's a case of a few making life difficult for the many when militants are around.
