Pins and bushes or rods and tubes

Just needing to make up some pivot points/axle type parts. I was thinking I could use some bright round bar and a suitable piece of tubing (Electric resistance welded tube) to make up what I needed. Would this work or do I need to find a source for pre made steel pins and bushes?

So long as the tube has a suitable wall thickness I’m sure it will be fine with infrequent use. Obviously bushes will have less friction and can be replaced. Plus less likely to bind with corrosion.
