Pivot pin removal.

Mr 188 here on yard scraper duties. The power steering ram needs a new seal as leaking oil bad now. Also hasn't seen grease for years by the looks of it. Very dry and rusty looking. The pins going through the cylinder look well seized. Soaked them in wd40 this evening. Anterior to get the pin out? I'm afraid of breaking something if going too hard on the hammer. Don't have any heat here either.

We have had to do two on our NHs they are the same tight as hell and cant get at them from above, in the end we used an air chisel/hammer from screwfix, only £20 and it soon knocked them out

We had some on a JCB loading shovel and the only way to get them out was with an oxy ark set, which is basically a hollow welding rod with oxygen blown up it. You certainly need good protective clothing though.

We had used heat, lots of heat, lots of releasing fluid even used my candle wax trick also used the air jack to take all the weight of the tractor on it and then used more hear and lots of hitting, in the end we cut through the pin to get the ram out so we could do part at a time still couldnt shift it,,put the air chisel on it and it popped out in a couple of seconds, the bit acutally in the rose joint that the grease gets to fell out on its own so its not ike we hadnt been trying to keep it from seizing,I think it would be better if the pin wasnt bolted down so it cant move perhaps it wouldnt seize tight then
