Anyone tried the new chem Pixxaro for resistant poppies?

It's only just launched in the uk market so unlikely to be many comments, although v v good by all accounts.

Mcpa does work for about 48hrs then the barstewards wake up again and apparently you're not allowed to spray them 5 times with Mcpa

I recommended quite a bit of Pixxaro last season in Canada. Really liked it and got consistent results under all conditions.

We were using it on ALS resistant chickweed and Kochia (tumbleweed).

It is a different mode of action so yes should work on the resistant poppies.

Applied first Pixxaro today, targeting a mixed population of cranesbill and cleavers. In terms of price, it is favourable compared to what would have been my standard application on these fields - SU (ally/ally max) + generic fluroxypyr.

Notice that Pixxaro doesn't kill 'brassica weeds'.

Pixxaro treated Cranesbill and Cleavers 24 hours post treatment. Classic twisting and distortion symptoms. I do like a herbicide that you can see working so quickly!

What is the mode of action? That looks typical of a hormone.

You're correct. The arylex bit (halauxifen-methyl IIRC) is a new chemical group within the synthetic auxin (hormone) mode of action. Hence the symptoms

Pm sent. I used Phase II as the adjuvant at 0.5% volume.
