Plant Identification Apps

Been trying out this app called 'Picture This' on my phone when out and about in the fields this week. Still early days with it yet but quite enjoying. Always losing my pocket guides and find it difficult to look up, with accuracy, certain plants when i've got home.

Not sure if anyone else uses any other similar apps, or indeed is interested.

It works pretty well so far.

I've tested it on the obvious ones and it identifies them with accuracy. Bluebells, meadowsweet, sowthistle, buttercups, clover marsh fern, to name a few around the farm. And it's picked up my garden plants/herbs, sunflower, rosemary lavender.

Sometimes it brings up a few different choices of what it may be if it has difficulty identifying one, though it does depend on the pic quality. I did have to retake one as originally it said it was hemlock.

Tried it on a sycamore tree leaf and it identified that correctly too.

I installed this app a couple of days ago and it has worked quite well for me too. I identify many plants in my garden, such as gardenias, roses, peonies, pothos, irises, etc. I had just pruned my rosemary plant quite hard, so I couldn't identify it. Then some succulents that I don't know what they are called, I can't identify them.

But hey, anyway, the most recognized plants are identified, with the exotic ones I didn't have much luck.
