Looking at getting a new plate cooler, old ones are struggling with the volume of milk, and its backing up to the milking parlour receiver vessel. needs to be able to handle 3000lts/hr, we have an ice bank and boar hole water so looking at a large doubled up cooler. What have people got experience with, and what would you recommend ?

I bought one from a company called uk exchangers, measured up my old one and they made one the same size and same number of plates. The new one has clip on gaskets and has a far higher pressure rating than the old one.
It was also much cheaper than the others i looked at.

Tube cooler,no restrictions and massive milk to water contact area.

Not cheap though,no restrictions means they are far better when washing up.

£1500 for mine,I have a plate cooler on mains water then the tube cooler is fed via a sub pump and ice water, never really go above 2500 litres per hour,if you want more you simply connect another in the line.
