I don't think it is for ploughing a field as such.Best place for that is in the scrap yard, Whats the depth that will plough at, 20, 25 " Why?

They have made a few and would be your man.
I am not sure about that Celtis man, thats not a term I am familiar with. They are a fair lump, probably around a ton and throw a furrow not far off a yard wide, probably derived from a trailed forestry plough that the crawlers would have pulledDon't they call them "downs plough "?
A customer of ours had one of these....@Kidds You are probably right, but i have seen footage on you tube, where these type of ploughs are used to mix the sub base, why i dont know.
We had a contractor plough out some moorland with something similar 20years ago. Was referred to as a paraire buster. 12" deep 24" wide furrow.
I think yours would have been made by Clark & Son (Parkgate) Dumfries, that is the type I am after. The one at Inverness was the trailed type, but she ended up going for silly money, far too dear if I had to cut it up and modify. If you ever feel the urge to part with yours please let me knowPark Gate made our one derived from a forestry plough. Did you not get the one at Inverness sale?
