Pneumatic conveyor slides

We have put a 30t perry conveyor in roof of a grain shed.
There are 2 slides that I would like to operate remotely, there is a rack that would need a pinion and chains. Could I use a pneumatic ram, air could come from a tractor or compressor plugged in at the door. The slides will not be opened and closed often in a season.

Would an electric actuator work?

Is a chain pulley really that much of a ball ache, think you may be over thinking the job.

simple answer yes slides come in hand air or electric operated
