On Tuesday 3 big strong homebred store heifers started puffing nothing bad,but called vet out .He said it didn’t look too bad and injected with alamycin and metacram,No foaming Just puffing as if they had run round the pen.Spoke to vet yesterday told to draixin and met .No change just puffing now dead. This did not look like normal pneumonia if that’s what it was.Had a calf with a similar puffing ,she responded up to now.Not seen this before.

Well knacker man took one said it’s lungs where black rotten,no results from pm yet.Shocked at how quickly it started with just a slight puffing, infact that’s all it was until death. What do others use as clearly draxin, etc isn’t touching it.But with only a slight sign of puffing no chance with these.Clearly vaccine has not stopped it.

We use Zactran & metacam some people find Draixin works better it depends on the farm. Were they weighed to make sure they got the correct dose? If the cow is struggling badly we give Metacam every couple of days, I believe Zactran works for about a week. What vaccine was used?

We had micro plasma last year .it Was hell . Only thing that worked quite well was double dose of alamycin. But we buy a lot of stores in so it come in with a bunch of them. Normally if there under 40 it's alamycin. Over it's zactran

We had that the best results were with either double dose hexasol or Norfenicol plus Loxicom. Mycoplasma is hell on earth, I agree
