what is the best stuff to use to get a good shine on paintwork ?

I have found Mer, as recommended by a caravan owner years ago, very effective on our old tractor bonnets.

You need to clean each panel you intend to polish scrupulously including the use of a product like iron-out before you polish it really. For small areas you can use autoglym super resin polish and apply by hand (follow the youtube videos) and it will give the paintwork a heck of a shine.

After this, apply the smallest possible amount of wax to the paint you can, something like bilt-hamber double speed wax. Let it cure and buff off.

Don't get SRP on plastic or rubber or anything other than the paintwork. It dries out into a powdery chalky white residue otherwise.

Failing that, you may want to enquire with a local car detailer who will give you a quote to polish and wax any paintwork you like, normally using a machine.

If a bit flat.
T cut a panel at a time, then to get T cut off. Just use a good polish and buff off to a shine. Otherwise getting T cut off on its own is a pig of a job.
For T cut I generally use one of those cheap microfibres mops that are available from Halfords, Ebay etc.

Bilt Hamber auto-foam is a great product and will foam like fury through a steam cleaner foam attachment. Great stuff and very safe on paint in my experience.
