What sort of lifespan do you experts reckon a quality polycarbonate roof should have? It’s on a cattery building (UPVC), and is failing after 6 years, which I don’t think is good enough. Thanks for any replies

How long after the guarantee would you reasonably expect them to last?We are guaranteeing our Heatguard 50 Polycarbonate Roofing Sheets for 15 years.

The answer to the question is quite awkward to answer because it depends on how you treat the sheets after installation, maintenance etc etc. In reality, they should last a good 20 to 30 years at leastHow long after the guarantee would you reasonably expect them to last?
It comes to preference at the end of the day. For example, in my indoor arena at home, I would change my rooflights which are GRP to Heatguard 50 because it allows more light to come through. BUT you are right, it does come down to cost as wellpolycarbonate is not the same as pvc its a different plastic.
clear GRP sheets are the best for strength /longevity , might need a wash after a few yrs and more exspensive thats all.
