We are trying to find a 14.2+ pony for my teenage daughter. Needs to be bomb proof and easy to catch and good with farm traffic. Reasonable priced or loan. My daughter has previous experience with loan pony and has regular lessons so it would have a good home. Petty coat government overruling me on this one.

It is certainly a seller's market and we can afford to be fussy who we sell to. I am a breeder and have recently sold three youngsters, and an aged stallion to another breeder, all sight unseen to English buyers, with no bother at all. But all I have is youngsters (except the stallion, of course). I wish I had a £1 for every person who asks for a middle aged, safe, plodder, that been there and done it all. Owners with those ponies aren't selling.

Buy a well handled 2 year old Highland. Cost would be about £2,000 plus transport. They are not difficult to break, especially if you have professional help. It is a lot of fun and you have an appreciating asset, not to mention a closer bond. Don't worry, I haven't got one to sell you, so you are quite safe!:) Non-pedigreed, unregistered, would be a lot cheaper.

Have a look on the Dragon driving website but not everybody on there is genuine. Good time to buy though ( price wise) with winter coming.
