Portable ac unit?

Has anyone invented a small (shoebox sized?) A/c unit that can be taken between tractors and machines without air con?
If not, why not?

Power consumption?
To plug in your power socket the air con unit would do next to nothing.
Running battery leads down to battery etc to get enough power wouldn't make it as portable, then there's the radiator ideally outside of the cab. (To get rid of the heat)

A tractor cab requires over 10,000 btu of cooling capacity. To get this there is a lot of heat generated which has to go somewhere, usually in a radiator mounted at the front of a tractor. You can get electric systems or retro fit traditional compressor types, both of which will cost about £1000.

They must need a lot of AC power as my tractor needed 1700g of gas, the chap who did it said that's comparable to a small fridge van! A range rover size car may get to 700g he said

i have one here that might be for sale soon......it does draw about 50 > 60 amps of power tho.
