My neighbour farmer in France put one on his arable fields. Don't think it worked because I turned the gas off the bloody thing every day.

My other neighbours think I am a hero.

If it is on again when I am next there I will superglue the tap.

Criminal damage and Trespass.

If I had a banger out, I'd put a spare camera on it.
And you wouldn't be turning it off more than once.
This is France not the UK.

Yes I’d say they work very well from experience. I’ve two. The only problem was the fibre glass stake broke off at ground level on one of them during winter gales. I should have taken it down. They’ll keep a big area clear of pigeons and more importantly rooks who I can’t shift by any other means other than shooting them. Much better than gas guns which are ignored by the rooks here. That’s why I tried the kites in the first place. Helps if there’s a bit of wind to create some movement but even the suspended kite keeps them away. A good product in my view. Be perfect on smaller plots.

To be fair though, the kites do help at reducing a lot of the antagonism we see in this thread, not that theres any excuse for criminal damage or trespass. If we can show a bit of consideration to neighbours it goes a long way. You just don’t know what folk are going through who live in our villages : serious illness, getting kids off to sleep etc and gas guns running from dawn till dusk right next to houses during these long days at this time of year can present a considerable nuisance. Let’s do what we can to get along and have a thought for others.
