Possibly the biggest reason I’ve said no in years

There might be "50 ways to die in the west", but theres hundreds of ways when working with wood and wood machinery.
Safe to say I wouldn't be a party to some half arsed employer trying to cut corners, or any bodges carried out on the cheap. If they want to carry on with it ask yourself if the boss is the kind of person you could share a cell with for 18 months...

Never a truer word said my friend, I think that loader hopper with the coils would be best option, would the coils cope with decent sized logs?

I have just found this - https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/173861730668

So he’s two options really, this and I make it work or they pack by hand. As he did originally suggest an angled work bed that logs were dumped on and they slid towards the packers.....

Or he gets someone else in to do it, who puts an on off tap in the tip line and they merrily carry on.

I’d write down all the safety implications that worry you with the trailer. Then price up a way to overcome them all, as in previous posts, put plenty on it and make it failsafe.

Then present your other option, which would be safer and cheaper. Suggest the trailer could be used to carry logs back to the yard or similar so they don’t feel it was a complete waste.
Hopefully then they’ll go with your preferred option.

Bodges and employees is a definite no.
Stay away as if anyone is hurt then you will be jointly liable. H&S advice is to stand back for a moment and see what may go wrong. You have done that. Full trailers were not meant to be tipped unless attached to a tractor. They could buy an old 2wd which would act as anchor and tip the trailer.

Do like the rest of us volume log producers do and use IBC cages and pallet rotators. simples Log processor conveyor fills 3 IBC cages just by using the arc of the conveyor.
