Agree with Ridger, loads of potatoes been harvested in Norn Iron, these will need to be shifted quick as will succumb to silver scurf and will sprout like hell.

Any maincrop seed potatoes left any where ? Only 3 kg bags in shops here ?

Seed is tight for most varieties.

What price piper now. Got a phone call the other day local grower put his up £1/bag this week. I haven't done anything yet, now I've oversold myself.

If you can't get an extra £2.50 a bag perhaps you should wait until you can?

Are stocks going to be that tight? I'm just on a fixed price with regulars which was above the season average for a fair while. It's going to be an expensive mistake running short.
I've got 100t of nothing special stuff to sell aswell.

It's always good advice to look after your regulars, but spend a bit of time researching the market to see where you ought to be on price.

IOE phoned me for the first time this season yesterday. We're £180 piper this week, gradually gone up from £150 a few weeks back. Will be out this wk.

I got the impression I should be charging about £200. I'm just glad I'm going to clear out, fed good few boxes of ware to the cattle last year. Bard are going to be late, hardly any seed here yet, and nobody has done anything, other than those on sand. Got two days muck spreading here yet myself, then plough potato land, odd person has finished drilling barley. Think beet drilling will start next week, never seen winter corns look so yellow and backward, funny old year.
Any trade for piper mids?
