Had an email saying we’ve got take a 10% reduction on one variety of seed we’ve ordered. Also talk that we’ve got to take other seed early in case they run out.

10% wouldn't be too bad , I had ordered 5 ton of a variety and only getting 2 ton, first year I didn't keep any of my own and I need them for first earlies

Defo short! The numbers were terrible and they are bold. Wish I was getting £100 extra/t! Two of our varieties are going on a 60mm now rather than a 55mm to try help things a bit. Most markies seed up here are like corks too so tonnes will be well back for sale in them as a lot less we’re planted anyway as getting to hard to grow.

Typical, isn't it. Seed short partly as area planted down as not particularly profitable.
Seed short so price doubles, who gets the extra profit?

If they are top drawer quality and you aren’t really in a rush, I would hold on for £440 or more.

Very wise words. Price will always reacts to supply.

The trade will at some stage peak out, thereafter it usually falls substantially, as sellers rush to supply before the price falls.
